About

Thanks for stopping by.

So this About page was like delivering a baby, it took me a 9 months enough to write it!  The problem is that it is very hard to define myself.

I am many things.  I’m a wife to a French man; a cat mommy to Jessica, who is queen of the household, we just pay the mortgage and keep her in kibble>  I am a wanna be writer, a world traveler, a foodie, a bookworm, and a movie nut.

I grew up an Army brat living all over the United States plus Latin America and Europe. I am a total klutz who has somehow managed not to break a single bone in her body. Not for lack of practice.

In 2003, my employer at the time transferred me to Switzerland.  This was the first time I lived in a foreign country without my parents.  So of course there were mishaps, or misadventures which I reported to all my friends and family in a weekly email called Misadventures with Andi.

When I decided to start a blog, the name stuck.

I have a day job, a side-business, this blog and no life. Just kidding. Not really.

I am a home-body who really is rather shy, although none of my friends buy it.

I blog about the things I like. The things I don’t like. Food, travel, books, movies. Having lived in France and adoring Paris, I write a lot about that too.

I am not a domestic goddess, fashionista, or a mean person, if you are looking for that, move along.

I don’t take myself seriously and don’t expect any of you to either.

================================

I do a monthly write-up on my Top 5 posts for the month, this might give you an idea about the types of posts I have here on Misadventures, you can check them out here.

I have just stumbled across your site via the blog revue site. I love your ‘About’ description. Your outlook on life sounds very similar to mine. I will keep reading!!

I think I love you (and your blog too)! How lucky are you that you lived in Paris. I am jealous. I found you through Shauna, who I met earlier in the year. I should have her re-do my blog!

I came across your site via http://www.cheeseandbeans.com and I have to say I recognise myself in your description of yourself. I am a Brit transplant to NYC, a complete foodie and a Francophile, although I’m sort of pondering a move to San Francisco too. Have Greencard will travel ;-) I’m also fairly shy, but my friends don’t believe me, but I’m a lot more outspoken than I used to be. 10years in NYC beats the shyness out of you after a while. It’s like aversion therapy ;-)

I am having a problem leaving a comment. I hope that I am not repeating myself here for the umpteenth time. But I think your blog’s great. Don’t just be a wannabe writer — be a writer! Write a book!

Andi November 11, 2009 at 8:27 am

Hi Marilyn, I am sorry you are having trouble, I did receive your first comment! Welcome!
