I think it is a sweet idea…I mean we can see who visits through via analytics but it is very nice when you get that interaction. My favorite idea put forward is the random compliment to the blogger as well. Just my 2c.

Hi Andi. In my opinion, it’s not weird at all. Nice to know the thoughts are being read and considered, even if nothing more is being added. As per your recent post (3/8) even ‘I was here’ are supportive words that count and mean something. That being said, I will surely comment more often

Hi, Andi – I feel the same way with leaving comments. Honestly, I would not mind at all if you left a ” I was here” comment on my blog. I value each and every comment. However, I know some bloggers prefer something of value. It’s all good to me.

p.s. I have not seen that widget you refer to. Blogger has a “Reactions” tool that someone can just click “cool, interesting, funny” without leaving a comment. Maybe you can find something similar?

I just found your blog through Midday Escapades – great to meet you Personally, I probably comment on around 10% of posts I read. As to your question… I can only tell you how it would seem to me. I honestly doit mind if someone just wants to say hello, but the ‘copy&paste’ comments bother me. When I see the exact same comment on a lot of blogs, I wonder why. Does that help?

I don’t think you need to comment every single time. I know that I personally notice when people DO comment and not so much when they DON’T. I mean, if I haven’t heard from someone in 6 months I might get concerned. But a few weeks? Nah. I just assume you are busy or, like me, you read blogs while you are operating on partial brain shut down.

I do think, if you really felt the need to comment, that you could just say, “Love you.” Or some other compliment.

Like, what if I came here and just commented, “Miss you” or “You rock” or “You sexy love kitten!” All good, right? And all true by the way.
