I did not watch the Superbowl. Nor have I watched it in years. I actually love football, love basketball, love baseball. I just don’t love TV anymore. I watch the French news a couple of times a week and we get the TV series we like on DVD once the season is over so that we can watch them continuously.
I did watch last year to see Bruce Springsteen for the half time show, any opportunity to see The Boss… The year before I watched some of the commercials. I know that the commercials are the best part and now they are more important than the game practically. The are of mythic proportions in terms of money spent on a 30-second spot, it is frankly crazy.
I did not watch yesterday because I had just seen Harry Connick Jr., so I had got my fix; I had just arrived home from Blissdom, and I was dead tired. But when I was browsing through my reader today, one of my French blog reads, Ask a French Man mentioned a Super Bowl commercial.
I was drawn in because the French don’t really care about the Super Bowl, why would they? The only time the French care about American sports is when there is a French citizen playing, like Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs basketball team, who is French.
So when Ask a French Man wrote about it I was intrigued. He was getting traffic as a result of people searching on the term that starts the following commercial which once I saw I had to share:

I totally loved the Google Commercial! So simple and yet so cute!
