Trulogy.com

No Music Memory Monday today, didn’t have an inspiring story to tell.  Instead, I wanted to take a moment to tell you about an interesting new website that launched in September.  It’s called Trulogy.

As you can see from the site header, Trulogy is a place where people can write the eulogy that they wanted to give to a loved one, but for whatever reason could not.   It is completely anonymous.  It is a site that allows people to be free of a burden, to get off their chest something they may have wanted to say but couldn’t.

The site was created by Charlie, the husband of Cecily, otherwise known as Uppercase Woman.  She wrote about the creation of Trulogy right after it’s launch.  I met Uppercase Women at the Type-A-Mom conference when I sat at the same table with her for breakfast.  Later she was on a panel led my friend Julie on trolls, and I found her intriguing.

Cecily is controversial. She doesn’t apologize for it. But what she does say is that she wishes to have a dialogue with those who think differently from her. She said something that really resonated with me.  She said she would rather listen to her dissenters and “keep yelling until we start talking.”

It is that openness that makes me really appreciate her.  And the site that Charlie created, based on experiences that Cecily had, is really an amazing gift to people, a form of written therapy.

I think it is generous and I wanted to share.

Trulogy.

what are trolls?

Trolls are really super aggressive commenters who basically are hate-mailers. Like say you are a liberal political blog, it would be like an ultra right-winger who called you names or insulted you or your family for having a different opinion. They are dissenters who are rude.
