I am giving MYSELF an award!

by Andi on August 13, 2009

Diane got this award from her blogging buddy, and I had to have it! And I am not giving it back! And you can’t make me!

Isn’t it adorable? So frenchie!

Every couple of months I ask my husband, “am I more French now? How about now?” And he always says, “Nope.”

I think I will spend my lifetime trying to capture that certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ !

Is there someone or some culture that you would love to emulate?

Since I stole the award the least I can do is fulfill the obligations! And that is to list 5 things I love. If you are a regular reader you can probably figures those out.

  1. My hubby!
  2. Jessica, my cat
  3. Food
  4. Movies and books (ok I am cheating here by combining them)
  5. All things French!

How about you? What are your 5?

luv the spunk, andi. i really need to a gen award, but i rarely see any designs i like. this stamp is TDF. i rip stuff off all the time, with attribution of course.

i've read so much about the mystique of french women – and my friend, susan, who i never see anymore =( lived in paris for several years. she's got more of it than anyone else in oklahoma.

i wonder what the world perception is of american women. you've totally turned me on to all things french. i'm serious. you're zeal is contagious.

I'm wondering what is this French "je ne sais quoi". Maybe because when I'm a French girl. ^^"
On the contrary, I'm a bit bored by France. I want to visit other countries, to hear speaking English and to speak very well this language. =)

I like the family oriented culture in Denmark. People routinely take time off to spend with their families & they don't get the flack from employers that we get here in America.

Stéphany – you cannot wonder because you "are". How you are raised, what is in your blood is already French. Knowing how to eat, dress, the way you are taught to be philosophical and to question. How you know you are part of a community (European) and not living in the world alone.

That is not to say that there are good things about many other cultures, including American, but I am fascinated by yours ;-)

Heather – I totally agree. It is like that in many places in Europe. When I was living there, I (and everyone) else would take 2-3 week vacations – and no one bats an eye. Work/life balance is important. There is no way you can have a real break with only one week off at a time. You need the first week just to unwind, then second week is when you really relax!

You go for french, I go for Italian. I love everything Italian.

I could never choose between French and Italian culture. That said, I like to think that I'm a bit of both. Congrats on the well-deserved award, btw! ;o)

Congrats on your self-award!!! It's totally you and you totally deserve it. :)

I would give anything to be Latin. I love everything about Latins and their cultures. I have been studying Spanish for years now.

The 5 things I love…
1) My extraordinary family
2) Travel
3) Books
4) Drinks: coffee, mojitos, and champagne
5) Chocolate

You are totally French :)

La Grenadine August 15, 2009 at 7:42 am

Andi > haha =) You're right : As I'm French, I can't really see what you mean. =) But I think I've got an idea with your explanation. ^^

And I'd like to know more about American culture personaly. =)
