This is not a photo of the glorious California coast along Highway 1 south of Carmel heading to Big Sur.
This is not a photo of the lush green of the Los Padres National Forest which surrounds Big Sur.
This is not a photo of the rugged beaches of the Julia Pfeiffer Burn State Park near Big Sur.
Nor is it a photo of the cool wooden chairs that sit within the stream of the Big Sur River.
No, this is a photo (taken with my iPhone) of Andi’s camera without battery. There was battery to turn on the camera, but not enough juice to turn it off. So it was stuck open as we passed all the lovely items that are mentioned above.
Another reason may be that we only stayed in Big Sur 10 minutes because Andi made the room reservations for the 4th and 5th of July instead of the 3rd and 4th of July so we had no room. That could be another reason….

This made me smile. I have an older version of that camera from the '80s that my dad gave to me. I love taking pictures. However, I have made that same mistake before, leaving the battery running. Mine is a manual 35mm Canon and to turn it on, you push a switch on the top, and sometimes I don't always close it back up, so I kill it! I'm so forgetful.
Ha . . . I finally understand why it is called misadventures!
