The Devlin Diary – Why I have been neglecting you

Why haven’t I sorted through the 549 photos I took on vacation? Why haven’t I written any real blog posts this week? Blame Christi Phillips. You may recall her from my interview that I did on her first book The Rossetti Letter. Well I started reading her second book, The Devlin Diary on the plane home, and I am so hooked that every spare moment of time goes to putting my nose back in the book rather than doing anything else! But you, my readers, freaders and fans, will be happy to know that I finished book and I can now focus my attention on other things like this blog and my business!

In this book Claire and Andrew return, but there is a new historical mystery to be solved in Revolutionary England (1672). Unlike in The Rossetti, where I felt Claire’s and Alessandra’s stories got equal weight, in The Devlin Diary, Hannah Devlin’s story is the majority of the book. Either case, I still love Ms. Phillips formula of threading the two women’s stories together. It makes for tantalizing reading!

I really liked The Rossetti Letter, but I liked this one even more! It just came out this past month and I highly recommend it!
