I was so bummed when Carla Bruni announced she would not accompany her husband, Nicholas Sarkozy, to the G20 Summit in London. I was dying for photos of Carla and Michelle together. But alas, that is not gonna happen.
And the Obama’s are making quite an impression – relaxing protocol with the Queen, being gracious and friendly guests in an environment that was forecasted to be a potentially hostile due to the fact that Little Napoleon, Mr. Sarkozy, (who, by the way, I adore, but know and realize that he is a total egomaniac), was threatening to storm out of the G20 if he did not get his way with some of the financial discussions being proposed (personally I think he could not stand the fact that Mr. Obama was a bigger news story). However, it has not phased the Barack and Michelle one bit!
I am not a huge fashionista, I like what I like, and it is usually classics (think Audrey Heburn), but the lovely Michele has been sporting some killer outfits which just happen to be J. Crew! I like that. There is an economic crisis in the country, so respectfully she is (a) not wearing expensive designer-ware and (b) she is wearing American (which I don’t really mind, but it is a nice statement and I know a lot of first ladies try to do this). Anyways, bottom line is, I love the stuff she is wearing! And that is saying a lot since I normally don’t comment on those types of things!
