(Warning, this post is LONG) I got tagged for this meme by my blogging buddy Missy over at That’s So Missy. We are supposed to show and describe the content of our purse. Thought it was a fun one, so here goes..
First off, my purse is collecting dust, because since I started my job in the city last year and I am taking mass transit, I try to keep what I carry to a minimum, so purse has been replaced with a laptop bag! When I do carry a purse, it is this one a Longchamps sac I got in Paris a few years ago.
But in reality, this is what I am using as a purse, a laptop bag from Kensington, which I adore, it fits a lot and it is very comfy!
So now for contents. There are three main sections to the bag. Going from back to front there is an area for files which always has two things:
(1) A spiral notebook that I carry around with me everywhere. I take a million notes and write lots of lists to things to do and (2) the work shuttle bus schedule and corresponding BART trains on a spreadsheet that I made so no matter what time it is, I can quickly plan my escape!
The middle compartment where the laptop is normally places always has two items:
(1) a book, currently The Rossetti Letter and (2) my camera. Since my job is so wonderful, I rarely have to bring home my work laptop, but when I do, it goes in the middle compartment and I shove my book with my files and my camera in the front, it is more squishy, but still works.
The front compartment holds a lot of stuff, which is why I love this bag! There are 3 pockets on the back side, a middle section and then pockets along the front. So starting from back left:
My badge and business cards for work (not gonna show ya!) and my Moo cards for Misadventures with Andi. Next the middle back pocket has:
My beloved iPhone, Orbit gum (always) and business cards for my side-business, Your Online Go To Gal. Last pocket in the back, on the right-hand side:
This awesome case that serves as a wallet. It is from a brand called Ogon got it from Magellan’s and it is so cool. Mine is black (sorry identity thieves, can’t steal my credit card numbers off the image!).

Front pockets…here we go! Again starting from the left:
Two Aveda lipsticks and 2 Aveda glosses, plus a clear gloss from bare Essentials. I might remember to wear these once or twice a week, but after my first coffee, it’s gone never to be replenished again for the day. I suck at make-up. Which is pretty funny because my best friend is a lipstick queen, her lips are perfect 24/7, you’d think after knowing her 20 years that something would have rubbed off on my, alas, no. In the middle are slots for pens. And the last pocket front right has:
Hand creme from L’Occitane, lip balm from La Roche Posay, French medicine (Efferalgan) I take for my migraines and my Voodoo Poken. I guess for my Poken, this pocket, or should I say, poche, is very French!
That leaves the free space between the two sets of pockets in the front compartment, and in here I have:
House keys (with my Life is Good key chain), car key, two USB keys, a pen, an iPhone charger a pen that won’t fit in the pen slot and earrings my friend gave to me from India that I have yet to remember to wear.

This turned out cute! It does seem a little mindless but to answer your question I find this kind of post helps you learn about someone else's personality, their tastes, likes & dislikes.
I see we share the same obsession for lip glosses (mine is MAC). And I LOVE the L'Occitane hand creme…I have a tube in my nightstand.
