Okay, I am over my earlier rant about losing my past two Sundays to taxes. Dear Mr. IRS: I did not mean it…I love being a responsible citizen and paying taxes!
And now I can move on to Day 7 of the 31DBBB project which is to write a link post. The main “lesson” in today’s assignment is to link to other blogs which can be undertaken in many different forms. This is something that I do quite often but maybe not as often as I should. I read a TON of blogs and a lot of really fantastic posts, but I often forget to share them with readers who might also enjoy a particular post or two. In terms of link-love, I did recently pass on some awards to some bloggers I like, but I think that may not be enough.

So today, I want to take a moment to highlight two bloggers in particular. The thing that makes them unique is that they are GUYS! With the exception of the pro bloggers I read (pro meaning they make their income being professional bloggers), 90% of the blogs I read are written by women. It is not something that I have done consciously, it just the way it is. Also I don’t have that many commenters who are of the male persuasion, it may be that the things I write about just don’t appeal to the gentlemen out there. I don’t take offense, personal blogs are a very, well, personal thing, and there is so much choice out there, that every body can find blogs that are perfect for their taste.
As usual, I digress. So without further ado…my boys!
First off we have Beave from Beave’s Brain. Beave is a blogger living near Chicago. He is a bruiser of a fellow who does security work, plays rugby, is unapolegitcally abrasive, basically a guy’s guy. But…underneath all that, is a guy with a BIG heart who is concerned about politics, local heritage, the suffering of others and his fiancee. He is about to get married so I am sure he is going to have even more to blog about soon! Beave visits weekly, comments often, and is an all-around nice guy. I visit his blog daily and really, really enjoy it.
And now Sean of It’s Not Art, my own personal savior! I actually know Sean. We met when he was contracting at the company I used to work at. When he is not doing boring web production, or wandering around the country, you can find him taking photos, designing websites, authoring articles and doing graphic design work. He has done all the special illustrations that I have had on my blog (check them out by looking at the ‘illustrations’ tag) as well as the blog header which I currently have. He has saved my ass with image work countless times and is a total sweetheart. Added to that, he has a fun blog too!
I would love to have more male readers so that I can build up my virtual harem (ladies, don’t fret, I love you too!) but until such time, these two will do!

Most of the blogs I read are by women too…but not on purpose. Thanks for these links, I’ll have to check them out.
Interesting observation…although I had not thought about it before, I now cannot think of a single manly blog that I read…but I did enjoy your references!
Oh wait, I do read Rick Steves
You are so awesome! I have never had a summary of my blog written before so it was neat to see an outside perspective!
The funny thing is, I mostly read blogs by women as well. I wonder if there are just substantially more women bloggers than men and if there are what the percentage looks like.
