I am doing things a little out of order, I will be completing yesterday’s assignment (Day 19) tomorrow and I still owe Day 16 which will come next week. But today’s assignment for the 31DBBB, leaving comments on other people blogs is something that I do every single day.
As I mentioned before in Day 6 #3, comments are a great way to expand your network, engage with other bloggers and increase traffic to your own site. BUT the key thing is, it MUST be genuine and authentic. Don’t spam other readers. Make comments that are on topic to the blog post. Or add value by answering a question or providing additional information, again on topic.
I have heard it said before (I am sorry that I cannot remember the source, but it’s not me) that comments are the currency of the blogosphere. Be generous with your comments, and with the karmic approach of the universe and the golden rule, it will come back to you in spades.

Hi, Andi. Comments-just-for-comments’-sake come across like the vague, “Uh huh” from someone who is clearly not interested in what you have to say, and is only listening with half an ear while thinking up the next brilliant thing THEY want to say.
I agree whole-heartedly Holly, that’s why I think it needs to be authentic, genuine and add value.
Commenting is also a great way to connect with your fellow bloggers, to give encouragement and feedback. We all need that from time to time.
Although I happily talk to myself all the time, and also write for myself (and hopefully for my children and someday my grandchildren), it’s nice to know if there are readers out there
And if there are, why not let the author know
So true! Comments are key if you want people to visit your blog. I’ve seen blogs that don’t have great content, but because the blogger comments everywhere, they get many comments in return. Karma baby, it’s alive and well.
