George Bush's Dr. Seuss

I am Sam
I am Sam
Sam I am

That Sam-I-am!
Than Sam-I-am!
I do not like
that Sam-I-am!

Do you like
Iran and Afghanistan?
I do not like them,
Sam-I-am.
I do not like
Iran and Afghanistan
Would you like them
here or there?

I would not like them
here or there.
I would not like them
anywhere.
I do not like
Iran and Afghanistan
I do not like them,
Sam-I-am.

We all know the scene from Michael’s Moore “Fahrenheit 9/11″ where Bush learns about the attack on the WTC. The one where he is in a school classroom and tries to play off the news that the Secret Service has just whispered in his ear yet he still is appears to be totally enamored by the story being read.

In my version, he is reading Dr. Seuss. And as on this day in 1852 “Uncle Sam” made his debut as a cartoon character in the New York Lantern, I have adjusted the text to reinforce my little George Bush story fantasy…and I know it should be Iraq and Afghanistan, but Iran rhymes…so leave me creative license!

I love the references to Iran no matter. Its a good adaptation. And one that more people should read. Sort of puts it into the lowest common denominator for all…
