I read Jen Lancaster’s last book, Such a Pretty Fat over the holiday break and once again loved it! Still like Bitter is the New Black the best, but all her books are entertaining. She has a new one coming out in May.
This one details her struggles with finding a weight loss regime that will fit with her lifestyle and personality. After trying several options, she went with Weight Watchers online. This is the same diet that I have done several times, and I think it is the only one I could ever be successful on. You can eat real food, it is all about portion control, balance and trade-offs, which is exactly what life is like as well!
I am a petite person who was born with a strange genetic defect, it is the I-hate-to-exercise-gene. Therefore, when I add on 30-40 pounds there is nothing that is going to take it off other than WW. At not quite 5 feet, that is a lot of weight. A lot of people say, “you don’t need to be on WW” which I just smile at. That is precisely because I did WW and kind of still do maintenance that people react that way.
Now someone very close to me is attempting a significant weight loss decision and has chosen to do it with WW. And just like I did, just like Jen Lancaster did and is doing, I have faith that my friend will be very successful!
I love this book and recommend her whole series.
