Merry Christmas book lovers! My nightstand this month is tropical! As I write this, I am currently in French Polynesia enjoying the warm water and warm sun. As a reminder, 5 Minutes for books is a community of people who love books and reading. As reading is one of my passion, I decided to participate in their FOURTH Tuesday of the month happening which is ‘What’s on Your Nightstand?” Although you can always see what I have just completed reading and what I currently have on my slate, this post allows me to give a little more detail.
The I-am-on-vacation-and-finally-get-to-read-these-books-for-fun-books: I completed all of the Twilight series, but did not get to Jen Lancaster’s second book, Bright Lights, Big Ass: A Self-Indulgent, Surly, Ex-Sorority Girl’s Guide to Why it Often Sucks in the City, or Who are These Idiots and Why Do They All Live Next Door to Me? and her third book, Such a Pretty Fat: One Narcissist’s Quest To Discover if Her Life Makes Her Ass Look Big, Or Why Pie is Not The Answer. These two will be the first two I read once I get on the pane.
The very-interesting-story-why-didn’t-I-think-of-that-book: Bringing Home the Birkin: My Life in Hot Pursuit of the World’s Most Coveted Handbag. This is the story of a guy who moved to Europe and started selling luxury goods on Ebay to make money, particularly Hermes purses, can’t wait to see how he story happened.
The got-to-keep-up-on-the-latest-online-trends-books: Secrets of Social Media Marketing and Facebook Marketing. Social media is a big part of my life, soon to be bigger, so it is interesting to read about people’s perspectives. The only thing is that the field moves so fast the books are practically out to date once they are printed.
The inspirational-tug-at-your-heart-strings-book: Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World. This is the story of a stray cat left for dead at a library and the long life it led with the library staff bringing joy and humor to a small town community.
