Let Freedom Ring

by Andi on November 10, 2008

After seeing posts on some of the blogs I read, including Free and Flawed and A Beautiful Day in the Reneeborhood in which they are showing their dismay and despair with the passing of Prop 8 in California, I felt that on the one-year anniversary of my own wedding that is was necessary to show my support as well.

The married life that I share with my husband is a gift and I cannot imagine what it would feel like to have it taken away from because someone thought it was wrong. No one should be denied that act of marriage simply because of the type of partner they choose. Who a person loves and how they live their life is not subject to legislation.

I am a California voter, I voted NO on Prop 8 and I support the Re-open Prop 8 Petition. If you live in CA and are registered to vote, please fill out the petition too!

If you are a blogger and you feel the same, take a picture of your wedding ring on your middle finger and add it to your blog then link to the following post on Diary of a Modern Day Matriarich and then sign her post.

P.S. >> Sorry if the image looks like I am giving Prop 8 the finger, but I wanted to get my sticker in the pic with my middle finger!

I LOVE the image and I LOVE the blog. Thank you Andi for defending equal rights for ALL.

Your cousin, Chris, who also voted No on 8!
