The waiting is killing me. I just want to put this day on fast-forward and hear the results! I voted two weeks ago and I am ready to know the outcome. Ummm, now please!
Me reading about a hundred blogs and checking the online news every 10 minutes is not helping. When I think back to the last time I was this excited about a presidential election it was for Clinton/Gore, the Internet was not the go-to medium for information for me at that time and remember staying up late watching the TV.
I also remember living in France for the Bush/Kerry election. I actually faxed in vote for Kerry. I was frustrated watching the coverage on the French news channel, it just wasn’t the same as “being there.”
This election is different and I don’t want it to end in disappointment…again…
One interesting thing of note: I have been registered to vote for 20 years and have never been called for jury duty – to the disbelief of friends and colleagues. I guess I forgot to knock on wood one of the times I was bragging saying that. Last year when I moved to Beserkeley I changed my registration address after basically having the same one (a P.O. box) for 15 years. Last night when I got home, what did I find in my mail….
a jury summons!
One exercise of civic duty leads to another…this ought to be fun.
