The blogging community continues to amaze me. Personally, I have only been a part of it since July, for years I sent out my stories and missives via emails. Now, each week, practically each day I come across creative, witty, vibrant people who not only write some amazing stuff, but also contribute to the world in remarkable manner.
I have already mentioned and participated in assignments from Operation Nice, a warm and inspiring site that reminds you that people are basically good. That kindness and humanity comes when you least expect it. If you want to feel warm and fuzzy, read today’s post.
But what blew me away today was a post by Just Creative Design. The author, Jacob Cass, is giving away prizes (which are beside the point) to people who either:
- donate to the Blog Action Day Poverty Fund (100% of all proceeds will go to the charity)
- or write a blog post (if they have one) or article about design
Jacob is doing this to celebrate his blog’s one-year anniversary. And instead of it being all about himself, he is giving back.
So if you are a blogger who reads my blog, go check it out and participate. If you are not a blogger, but would like to qualify, check out Just Creative Design for details on how to deliver a writing submission. If you don’t have a blog or don’t write, go donate!
The deadline is November 22nd. I will be participating with both a donation and a writing entry, so stay tuned for that.

It’s impressive how many sponsors that he racked up to make such an impact. That’s really an amazing idea he has.
